What is the Grubmaster?

On each campout, one person acts as the “Grubmaster” for each Patrol, supported by the Patrol.  He can volunteer or be assigned by the Patrol Leader.  It is the Grubmaster’s responsibility to plan a menu, buy the food, and manage cooking and cleanup for the Patrol.

What is the budget?

You get $15 per person to spend on food. The money collected for the campout will be credited to your scout account.

Who Approves the Menu?

Your Patrol Leader must approve the menu for each campout. You should talk to the people you are cooking for to be sure the menu is acceptable to them.

What Should I Cook?

Anything you want. For a typical campout you should have a breakfast (cooked), Lunch (sandwiches that they can eat on the trail), Dinner (cooked) and breakfast for Sunday (packaged donuts or bagels). You should experiment with Dutch Oven cooking and fun foods for the patrol.
